
Mental Health First Aid Course
Become a Mental Health First Aider with this course from Torfaen Talks CIC.
The course will takes place over two online sessions with further online learning required beforehand.
To gain a qualification in MHFA Wales you will need to attend the full Adult MHFA Wales course.

Five Modules
Modules 1 - 3 Home Learning (Approx 3 hours)

Please note that due to the sensitive topics discussed within the training it is recommended that participants have an appropriate level of well-being before attending.
Whist sharing experiences can benefit the training experience participants must be aware that Mental Health First Aid is designed to help participants support others and is not intended as a therapy session for the participant. This is for the comfort for all participants.

This course trains you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
The value of this course is approximately £120 per person.
In this instance, we have places for individuals who reside in Torfaen for £40.

Two session online course .
Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.
Each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
We limit numbers to 10 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn.
